While at ESI, Brittany has been proud to advise several communities on economic development strategies in Delaware County, including Media, Chester City, and Upper Darby.
Prior to joining ESI, Brittany worked in the City of Norfolk, Virginia in both the executive and legislative branches of government. As assistant to the Mayor, she was the primary liaison to citizens, community, and government agencies serving as a "jack of all trades." It was here that Brittany gained intimate knowledge of constituent services and the important role that government plays to serve families and senior citizens in need. In Norfolk, Brittany also worked in the Department of City Planning, gaining intimate knowledge of community development at a local level. Brittany's main role in this department was to make government more efficient and responsive to taxpayer dollars.
In 2009, Brittany was honored to be selected as a U.S. Presidential Management Fellow - the federal government's flagship leadership development program which trains the next generation of government leaders. From 2009-2013, Brittany served as a Budget Analyst at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. She managed a portfolio of several hundred million dollars, and as a result, she possesses expert skill in budget preparation, program management, and policy development. In addition, she led the annual process for reviewing agency-wide performance goals.
Between 2006-2009, Brittany worked professionally on state and local democratic campaigns in Montgomery and Chester Counties. As a professionally trained community organizer, Brittany helped to organize elected officials, faith-based and nonprofit leaders to have a unified voice at the state level for nonpartisan issues that were important to the inner-ring suburbs.
Brittany holds a Master of Public Administration from the Fels Institute of Government at the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor’s degree in economics from the College of William and Mary. In 2015, through the support of the Institute for Veterans and Military Families, she became a certified Project Management Professional (PMP)®.
